Facebook Under Siege -- Is this the moment when new social media alternatives can achieve mass-adoption?

Here is a tweet I saw during the week. This is the first of eleven tweets. This one isn’t dying soon.

If you’re feeling jittery about the recent Facebook scandal and are looking for new ways to connect and protect your information, you should act fast, and try something new. A new social site that takes your privacy very seriously is a site called inlinx.com.

InLinx has an array of privacy settings that make it easy to dodge the threat of people looking at things you don’t them to see. Their “Treat as” feature give you the option to treat someone as a family or a Linx. If you choose to treat someone as a family, they can only view the posts in the group they belong in. If you decide to choose someone as a Linx, they can view both the family and Linx posts. This means you can choose what information you decide to share with your different groups.

Unlike other social media networks where you leave a trail of everything you post or say behind you, inLinx takes your privacy seriously ensuring that none of your activities with friends and families is found on search engines. There’s no better time than now to try a new platform that allows you to connect and control your own private information.

As an update to this thread, Max Schrems’ organization nyob (none of your business) last friday filed 4 lawsuits for a total of 7 Billion Euros against Facebook, Instagram, Whats App and Google.
